TACHIKICHI
Founded in 1752, Tachikichi traces its roots to Edo Period Kyoto.
For more than 260 years,
Tachikichi has maintained its reputation as
Japan's pre-eminent maker of traditional Japanese tableware.
Kyoto was Japan's capital city for over 1,000 years.
The simple and understated aesthetics of Kyoto are
still reflected in the objects and utensils Japanese people use in their daily life.
Against this background Tachikichi has been a familiar presence
in the nation's life over the generations.
To the present day Tachikichi has been hand-crafting original plates,
dishes and utensils in workshops located in Japan's best-known ceramics regions to
serve and complement Japanese cuisine.
